Pass Me The Pineapple Juice (Not Excederin)

pexels-photo-348523Among so many other weird brain issues, I have a problem with chronic headaches (Occipital neuralgia). . . and migraines.  Fabulous, right?

So, I have to prevent becoming dehydrated (not easy when you live on Dt. Mountain Dew and menthols), avoid stress (yeah, right) and get plenty of quality sleep.  All of this is on top of preventives, an enormous amount of Excederin Migraine Formula and the meds for the bipolar issues.

I have seen on the interwebs that pineapple juice is supposed to help with headaches and migraines.  Please note . . . I ALWAYS note a difference between the two.  One is not the other.  Don’t make me get up on the soapbox.

Anyway, I was going to make a ham last week and needed pineapple juice.  I bought some and, when I was dealing with my normal morning headache, I decided to have a glass.  I love pineapples and the juice from them.  So, it wasn’t hard to talk myself into giving it a try.

Guess what?  The headache went away (fairly quickly) without any meds for it!  I’ve been having a glass twice a day since then and it seems to get rid of them.  I can’t wait to give it a try for migraines!

On the bipolar front . . . people who are diagnosed as bipolar are at a higher risk for migraines.  Yes, genetics affect migraines.  But, it’s been found that bipolar people are more likely to suffer from migraines as opposed to the general population.  They’ve even determined that type II people are more likely to have them as opposed to type I.  Why not add to the fun of a crippling mental illness, right?
